Engaging
in Healthy Living is
a community outreach health education and information prevention
program aim to prevent, reduce and/or eliminate the risks of health
disparities (e.g., obesity, HIV/AIDS, hypertension, diabetes, infant
mortality cardiovascular disease etc…) among underinsured,
underserved individuals, families, communities and areas. The goal of
the program is to prevent and/or reduce the mortality rate of the obese
through
healthy living trainings, program and policies development,
implementation, sustainability and evaluation services. |
Empowering
Healthy Communities focuses on
reducing inequities in the social determinants of health among
underserved
communities in an effort to meet the unmet needs of healthy community
living. |
Bright
Beginnings seeks to address
adverse pregnancy outcomes
including infant mortality, low birth weight, and very low birth weight
in Prince George’s County Maryland. The overall goal is to reduce poor
pregnancy outcomes (low birth weight, infant mortality, maternal
pregnancy complications, etc.) among low income, underserved, minority
pregnant women and their newborns. |
Fatherhood:
An Endless Journey is
holistically-based,
intergenerational, interactive/proactive approach to engaging
fathers-to-be in healthy family living, educational, and an infant
mortality reduction
and prevention initiative that aims to increase fathers’ engagement in
healthy and productive family living. The program seeks to understand
and create strategies to decrease absence and deterioration of
relationships and decrease the impact of non-resident fathers on the
success and quality
of life of their children and other family members. |

Breath of Life is a primary cancer prevention and
outreach education program implemented in an effort to prevent
tobacco use and reduce tobacco dependency by integrating healthy
lifestyle and life course training among underserved communities. |
